We had a nice clip here from Aussie TV Channel 7 reviewing some of the pre-Final matches at the 2007 Australian Open, but they removed it from YouTube, I guess due to copyright issues. So the great video shots of Sharapova, Roddick, Nadal, Hewitt, Serena, Gonzales, and Federer are gone.
I commented on how these last three players hit through the ball. Serena's backhand is mind-boggling the way her racquet seems to bounce backward at impact and then try to catch up with the ball as it rockets out toward the target. Gonzales, whom I have criticized earlier for taking too big of a swing and not showing the logo, redeems himself with his terrific follow-through on a screaming forehand. And, of course, Roger Federer, the 2007 Australian Open Champion, hits such a marvellous perfect backhand it brings tears to your eyes. What a wonderful tennis player he is.
All that is gone, but I managed to find another slow-motion montage of Mr. Federer, so that will have to do for now. Happy viewing.
