VJTTA will have a picnic for all players, coaches, and parents at the Ross Corners Tennis Courts on Saturday, August 18 beginning around 11:00 (right after our last matches on those courts). We'll have pizza, soft drinks, and other treats. Hope to see you all there.

If you like tennis and enjoy watching high quality matches, you should try to get out to the Binghamton Challenger Tennis Tournament at Recreation Park in Binghamton to see the semi-final and final matches on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Both singles and doubles will be played. The top-seed for this tournament is Thomas Johannson, a former #7 world player and winner of the Australian Open. He is joined by a score of other fine up and coming players from all over the world in these last two days of competition.

The game schedule will be posted this week-end. Please note that some of the sponsorships have changed. We now have 18 sponsors.
This 2007 Summer Session we will use the big sponge balls (PTR Speed Ball or Gamma Revolution Ball) for the 6-7 year olds and the 8-10 year olds. The 11-12 year olds will start the season using the sponge balls, but for the last four or five games will use the Gamma First Set Ball (a softer, regulation size two-tone tennis ball). The 13-15 year olds will use the Gamma First Set Ball for all their games. New Gamma First Set Balls have been on back-order for over 6 weeks. They should be ready for distribution by the lst of July.
